Alessandro Florenzi's last-gasp strike earned AS Roma a 2-1 victory over Torino FC as Rudi Garcia's side opened up a nine-point advantage over third-placed SSC Napoli.
Ciro Immobile's stunning volley looked to have earned a point for the visitors, who halted Roma's ten-match winning run in the reverse fixture in December. Yet Gervinho's slide-rule pass sent Florenzi through on the left and the 23-year-old rifled into the top corner.
Gervinho had also created the opener for Mattia Destro, diverting the ball past the onrushing Daniele Padelli at full stretch four minutes before half-time. The watching Cesare Prandelli, Italy coach, will have taken note, likewise when Immobile equalised with an extraordinary left-footed volley across Morgan De Sanctis that went into the far corner.
It looked to be enough for a point but Florenzi, an 83rd-minute substitute, had other ideas.
