Juventus remain eight points ahead of AS Roma at the top of the table after both sides won on a busy day of Serie A action.
The Bianconeri kept their third successive clean sheet in the league as they defeated Bologna FC thanks to a solitary Paul Pogba goal, the midfielder firing a low right-footed shot past Gianluca Curci from the edge of the penalty area after 64 minutes.
With four games remaining, Bologna are level on points with third-bottom US Sassuolo Calcio, who made it two victories in three unbeaten matches by prevailing 1-0 at AC Chievo Verona. Relegation rivals AS Livorno Calcio lost 3-0 at AC Milan while Calcio Catania, who prop up the standings, triumphed for the first time since mid-February, 2-1 against UC Sampdoria.
Roma's eighth consecutive win, 1-0 at ACF Fiorentina, came courtesy of Radja Nainggolan's first-half goal, the Belgian international sliding in to beat Neto after a purposeful run by Adam Ljajić. SSC Napoli, occupants of the third UEFA Champions League berth, lead fourth-ranked Fiorentina by ten points following their 1-1 draw with Udinese Calcio.
Elsewhere, there was success for Cagliari Calcio, FC Internazionale Milano and Hellas Verona FC while SS Lazio drew 3-3 at home with Torino FC.
