Torino FC, SS Lazio and Hellas Verona FC all posted win on Sunday as the race for UEFA Europa League spots continued in Italy.
Torino hold the edge in sixth place after recording their fourth victories in five outings at home against Udinese Calcio. Ciro Immobile set up Omar El Kaddouri to fire into the bottom corner with a quarter of an hour gone, before the Italy forward doubled the tally himself on 56 minutes, slotting in from close range.
Lazio lie level with the Granata on 52 points after they added to AS Livorno Calcio's woes. Captain Stefano Mauri's first-half goal was added to by Antonio Candreva's 51st-minute penalty to leave Livorno three points from safety in 19th.
Verona also boast 52 points after they defeated bottom side Calcio Catania, Luca Toni registering twice, while a Mauricio Pinilla spot kick made the difference for Cagliari Calcio in a 1-0 win against ten-man Parma FC. UC Sampdoria beat AC Chievo Verona 2-1 thanks to Roberto Soriano's added-time winner and Atalanta BC drew 1-1 with Genoa CFC in the evening kick-off.
