Juventus moved closer to a third straight Italian title as they re-established an eight-point cushion over AS Roma after an imperious display against AS Livorno Calcio.
Fernando Llorente scored both goals at home to Livorno, breaking the deadlock with a smart turn and left-foot finish just after the half-hour mark and registering again three minutes later with a free header from Andrea Pirlo's corner. Relegation-threatened Livorno had briefly threatened during the early stages but Juventus were already well on top when Llorente struck. The forward could have had a hat-trick but scuffed wide in the second half.
The 2-0 success was Juventus's 16th in a row at home in the league this term, matching Torino FC's 1947/48 Serie A record. AC Milan have been far from those heights this season, but a campaign-best third consecutive victory on Monday lifted the Rossoneri into 11th spot. Goals from Adel Taarabt and Keisuke Honda, the Japan playmaker's first in Serie A, earned a 2-1 triumph at Genoa CFC.
