Udinese Calcio have appointed Andrea Stramaccioni as their new coach after Francesco Guidolin decided to take a behind-the-scenes role at the club earlier in the month.
The 38-year-old Stramaccioni has signed a two-year contract with Udinese, having been without a club since parting company with FC Internazionale Milano at the end of the 2012/13 campaign. He had taken charge of the Nerazzurri late on in the previous season following a successful spell with the club's academy.
Guidolin, meanwhile, is now working as a technical supervisor at the club, having led his side to a 13th-placed finish last season to bring an end to his second spell as coach. "This is a beautiful day for me because it means I won't be coaching anymore, but I can still stay here," the 58-year-old said. "This is the start of a new adventure and I'm curious to see how it will go."
