Argentinian midfielder Enzo Pérez was named as Portugal's 2013/14 player of the season as SL Benfica took the bulk of the accolades at Sunday's Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) gala.
The 28-year-old, who is currently on duty with Argentina at the FIFA World Cup finals, was acclaimed in his absence, while team-mate Jan Oblak was hailed as the best goalkeeper. Jorge Jesus was named as the season's best coach, completing a treble for the Eagles – who won the league, the Portuguese Cup and the League Cup last season, and reached the UEFA Europa League final.
The other three prizes handed out on the night went to Benfica's rivals. Sporting Clube de Portugal's 22-year-old midfielder William Carvalho got the best newcomer award, FC Porto's striker Jackson Martínez was recognised as the season's top scorer, with 20 goals, and Estoril Praia, who unexpectedly finished fourth, were given a fair play award.
