• Phivos Vakis first became involved in football in 1990 through Apollon Limassol FC. He held various positions within the club at amateur and professional levels, and was also a committee member. A certified accountant, Vakis also worked as a finance director in ship management from 1992.
• In July 2008, he was appointed to the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) board, before being elected to the role of general secretary in September of the same year.
• He is currently a member of the UEFA Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee.
