Vote for your Team of the Year 2014

Manuel Neuer: Simply the best goalkeeper in the world. He has great presence, decision-making and makes important saves when it matters. He is outstanding inside and outside the box, plays like a sweeper when covering the back four and as a quarter-back when his team is in possession.

Philipp Lahm: With his versatility and game intelligence he can play anywhere and I put him in the left-back position. A great captain, a very consistent performer, he times his forward runs very well, is a great crosser and hardly ever gives the ball away.

Jérôme Boateng: Like Lahm he is very versatile and has had a fantastic year with Bayern and Germany. A great defender in one-on-one situations and very confident in possession.

Sergio Ramos: Shows great passion and desire every time he plays. He is excellent in the air and scores some important goals as well as being fantastic in transition and supporting the attack.

Pablo Zabaleta: He never stops running up and down the right flank and fighting for the cause. He won the Premier League title with Manchester City and reached the World Cup final with Argentina; loves to overlap but always gets back when needed.

Yaya Touré: A midfield dynamo who is as effective breaking up the opposition play as he is starting the attack.

Toni Kroos: Can play anywhere in midfield and is a great link between defenders and strikers or switching play.

Arjen Robben: Has a fantastic left foot, speed off the mark and an ability to make repetitive sprints. Although many defenders know what he is going to do, they cannot stop him. He is always willing to take defenders on or to make the runs behind.

Lionel Messi: Barcelona's talisman and one of the greatest players of all time already. Possesses fantastic close control, balance and a rapid change of direction. Can dribble or play combinations at high speed in really small areas.

Thomas Müller: Fantastic work ethic and a real team player. Always in the right place to score or to give decisive passes, he is willing to work back to help in defence. Was one of the best players at the World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo: The world's best player and a fantastic athlete. His scoring record is unbelievable. Looks like he gets better and better each year. He is fast, strong and powerful and can score all kinds of goals and his free-kicks are nightmare for goalkeepers.
