"I'd like to thank all those who believed in me after a not-so-successful season last term," said Hibernians FC captain Andrew Cohen after being voted players' player of the year.

Hibernians FC captain Andrew Cohen has been voted the Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) player of the year for 2014/15.

The 33-year-old Maltese international striker topped the vote of his fellow professionals after an impressively reliable set of performances in aiding Hibernians to the Premier League title with three games to spare. Cohen finished ahead of three Brazilians – club-mates Edison Tarabai (now with South Korea's Seoul E-Land FC) and Jorginho, and Naxxar Lions FC's Gilmar Ribeiro

"I am delighted," Cohen told UEFA.com. "I would like to thank all those who believed in me after a not-so-successful season last term. At the beginning of this season I was adamant I would come back with a bang and so I did."

Branko Nišević of Hibernians was named coach of the year, with six of his squad among the MFPA Best XI: goalkeeper Henry Bonello, left-back Clayton Failla, central defenders Rodolfo Soares and Andrei Agius, plus forwards Cohen and Edison.
