PFC Ludogorets Razgrad have continued their domestic dominance by winning the Bulgarian title for the fourth season in a row.

The Eagles, who were promoted to the top flight for the first time in 2011, secured the championship with a 4-1 home win over second-placed PFC Lokomotiv Sofia with goals from Marcelinho, Júnior Quixadá (2) and Virgil Misidjan in the space of 25 minutes either side of half-time. Daniel Genov (66) pulled one back for the visitors but could not stop Georgi Dermendjiev's team moving ten points clear of Sofia and PFC Litex Lovech, who have two and three matches remaining respectively.

"It was a long season for us as we reached the UEFA Champions League group stage," said Dermendjiev. "The second half of the season was very hard from a psychological point of view. This is my first league title as a first-team coach and it makes me very happy."

The 60-year-old, who replaced Stoycho Stoev in July 2014, immediately guided his side through three qualifying rounds in Europe. They reached the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time with a dramatic victory on penalties against FC Steaua Bucureşti. Ludogorets were the first Bulgarian side to earn group stage points when beating FC Basel 1893 1-0 on matchday three and have now become the first side since PFC CSKA Sofia (1980-83) to win the league title four times in a row.
