UEFA has announced the names of the three nominees shortlisted for the 2014/15 UEFA Best Women’s Player in Europe Award, an initiative by UEFA President Michel Platini in conjunction with the European Sports Media (ESM) group.

A jury composed of 18 journalists committed to supporting women’s football has selected the shortlist of three players. The same jury will then cast their votes live during the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on 27 August, with an electronic system used to determine the outright winner.

The three players who received the most points overall from the second round of voting, in alphabetical order, are: Amandine Henry (FRA – Olympique Lyonnais), Dzsenifer Marozsán (GER – 1. FFC Frankfurt) and Celia Šašić (GER – 1. FFC Frankfurt, now retired).
