Borislav Mihaylov has been re-elected as president of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) at the association's regular congress.

Mihaylov, a UEFA Executive Committee member, is now starting his third term in office. The 51-year-old former Bulgarian national team goalkeeper and captain won his first mandate in 2005 and the second in 2009 having been vice-president of the BFS between 2001 and 2005. Mihaylov was elected as a member of the UEFA Executive Committee in 2011.

"I would like to thank all of you for your trust," said Mihaylov after his re-election. "I hope I will justify your faith and expectations, and that we will all lift the level of Bulgarian football."

He outlined the association's desire and ambition to improve the level of the national teams, and to finish the construction of the new BFS headquarters and national team training base within the coming year. Mihaylov also emphasised the importance of close cooperation with the Bulgarian state authorities.
