Cyprus mourns rising star

Defender tragedy
Kkaras, a defender with first division club Enosis Neon Paralimniou FC, died instantly when his car collided with another vehicle on the Paralimni to Ayia Napa road on the Mediterranean island in the early hours of 26 December.

Mourning period
The 19-year-old was travelling with a friend, Georgos Mavroudis, 21, and both men were thrown into the road by the impact of the crash. Enosis have declared a 40-day period of mourning and offered to pay the funeral expenses of both the deceased.
