Bucharest clubs in fixture switch

Saturday's visit by United States president George W Bush has played havoc with the Romanian fixture list.

24 hour delay
Both the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) and the Romanian Professional League (LPF) agreed to a police request to move the three top-flight games due to be played in the capital Bucharest on Saturday back by 24 hours. This will enable the police and security forces to focus their efforts entirely on President Bush's one-day visit to the country.

Security 'risk'
"It was the logical thing to do, because there would have been a risk in having so many people gathered in the city," said Constantin Danilescu, a director of one of the affected clubs, FC Dinamo Bucuresti. The fixtures between FC Steaua Bucuresti and FC Farul Constanta, Dinamo and FC Brasov, and FC Rapid Bucuresti and FC National Bucuresti, will now take place on Sunday 24 November.
