Deserved point
Zenit captain Vladislav Radimov halved the deficit before the break with a header but Elver Rahimic restored the advantage in the 55th minute. Alexander Kerzhakov then made it 3-2, and Zenit salvaged a thoroughly commendable point courtesy of Olexander Spivak's last-minute goal.
Amkar win
FC Torpedo Moskva lead the standings on goal difference after their 3-1 victory against newly-promoted FC Kuban Krasnodar. Aleksandr Panov, Igor Semokov and Igor Lebedenko all chipped in to earn the result. FC Amkar Perm, also top-flight debutants, achieved a surprise 2-0 win against FC Rostov.
Goal deluge
Third-placed FC Spartak Moskva came from behind to earn a 3-2 victory at SC Rotor Volgograd. Andrei Krivov and Valeri Esipov were both on target for the visitors before Mihailo Pjanovic, Alexander Samedov and Maxym Kalinichenko turned the match on its head before half-time. Despite the frantic start, the second half was goalless. Another high-scoring game came in the capital wheer Andrei Nikolaev was twice on target as FC Moskva defeated FC Krylya Sovetov Samara 5-1.
Draws galore
FC Lokomotiv Moskva paid for spurning chances on their travels against FC Rubin Kazan as they were held to a scoreless draw. FC Saturn Moskovskaya also drew 0-0 at home against FC Dinamo Moskva while FC Shinnik Yaroslav and visitors FC Alania Vladikavkaz cancelled each other out 1-1.
