The Football Association has announced this season's FA Cup final will be moved to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff because the new Wembley will not be completed in time.
Cardiff backup
FA chief executive Brian Barwick said: "I can confirm that this season's FA Cup final will be held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 13 May. The FA took the prudent step of booking the Millennium Stadium as a backup option to Wembley last August, therefore allowing us to extend this decision as long as possible."
Friendlies moved
The FA had hoped the domestic season’s showpiece event would return to the capital this season after a five-year absence following the demoltion of the old Wembley in 2000, although the Cardiff venue has proved popular with fans. England’s warm-up games for the 2006 FIFA World Cup against Hungary and Jamaica will now be held at Manchester United FC's stadium, Old Trafford.
