Denmark round-up: Aalborg edge in front

Aalborg BK climbed to the top of the Danish Superleague on Sunday with a 1-0 home win over Akademisk Boldklub.

Substitute Jacob Sørensen’s first ever league goal clinched all three points despite frenzied efforts from the hosts to level the game in the final stages.

København stutter
Second-placed FC København conceded their place at the summit as they needed an injury-time equaliser from Morten Bisgaard to snatch a 2-2 draw against FC Midtjylland.

Brøndby hit four
Brøndby IF, meanwhile, ended a run of three successive losses with a 4-0 defeat of Viborg FF. Mads Jørgensen with a double, Ruben Bagger and substitute Thomas Lindrup were the scorers.

Lashed in
AGF Århus midfield player Morten Poulsen lashed in an injury-time winner as his side beat Odense BK 3-2. Poulsen's decider came just three minutes after OB captain Michael Hemmingsen thought he had clinched a point with the equaliser.

Køge demolished
Newly-promoted Køge BK lost 4-0 at home to Silkeborg IF, with Brian Pedersen, Ulrich Pedersen, Christopher Poulsen and Kenneth Fabricius the names on the scoresheet.

Esbjerg off the mark
Esbjerg fB recorded their first win of the season in thrilling style on Saturday with a 4-3 victory at strugglers Farum. Two goals from Hans Henrik Andreasen and one apiece from Henrik Nielsen and Jess Thorup secured the victory.  Thomas Schultz, Nicklas Hindsberg goal and David Rasmussen netted for the hosts.
