Romanian League leaders FC Dinamo Bucuresti were held 2-2 by CS Otelul Galati on Sunday.

Romanian League leaders FC Dinamo Bucuresti were held 2-2 by CS Otelul Galati on Sunday. Dinamo showed a distinct lack of inspiration against Marius Lacatus' well-organised side despite taking the lead in the ninth minute, thanks to a header by Claudiu Niculescu.

Tanase strike
Otelul equalised in the 24th minute with a powerul Viorel Tanase strike. The hosts took the lead again five minutes before half-time after a defensive mistake by Otelul, Costel Ilie capitalising to score his first goal for the club. Otelul refused to give up and equalised for a second time three minutes after the interval through a diving header by Mihai Gurita. The game was also notable for the return of Dinamo midfield player Florentin Petre after 18 months out of action due to illness and a freak fishing injury.

Rapid back in the hunt
In Sunday's other game, FC Rapid Bucuresti re-entered the title race with a 1-0 win in their away game with CF Sportul Studentesc. The only goal came in the 73rd minute when Florin Maxim fouled Florin Bratu in the penalty area. Maxim was red carded and Rapid captain Adrian Iencsi coolly dispatched the spot kick. Rapid are now second with 35 points, four behind Dinamo.
