Old boy links up with Lech

Polish international midfield player Pawel Kaczorowski has rejoined KKS Lech Poznan on a free transfer.

Hero returns
The 29-year-old has signed for Lech as a free agent, his contract with former club KP Polonia Warszawa having been cancelled because the club owed him money in unpaid wages. Kaczorowski moves to Lech despite interest from another struggling side, Widzew Lódz. "It was hard to forget the supporters here, I have followed everything that has been going on at the club, and decided I wanted to come back," he explained.

Winter sales
Lech, who were promoted back into the top flight last summer, have used the winter break to strengthen their squad. As well as Kaczorowski, they have also drafted in Polish international Rafal Lasocki, Arkadiusz Kaliszan, Krzysztof Gajtkowski and Martynas Cikas. Lech are currently tenth in the 16-team Ekstraklasa, four points above second-from-bottom Widzew.

International breakthrough
Kaczorowski has played eight times for Poland and scored his first international goal in the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying victory against San Marino in September. His previous clubs include Pogon Zdunska Wola and KSZO Ostrowiec.
