Third signing
The 28-year-old utility player is manager Micky Adams's third purchase since the club were promoted back to the English Premiership at the end of last season.
Contract offer rejected
Scimeca, who turned down the offer of a new contract at first division Nottingham Forest FC, joins Steve Howey, who has arrived from Manchester City FC, and Brighton and Hove Albion FC's Paul Brooker at Leicester. Adams said: "I have consistently said that we need to bring in several new faces and we are delighted to add Riccardo to that list.

"We are hopeful of making more new signings in the not too distant future." Leicester play Southampton FC at home when the new season kicks off on 16 August.
