Article body
Closing in
The Yugoslavian striker has been in fine form of late and scored again in the 3-0 weekend victory against RBC Roosendaal. He now has 19 goals for the season and is in seventh place, within touching distance of the likes of Christian Vieri and Thierry Henry.
Makaay again
Elsewhere, Roy Makaay climbed up to eighth place following his strike for RC Deportivo La Coruña in the 2-0 win at Real Betis Balompié. Makaay has 14 goals but is just half a point behind Kezman because of the multiplier given to goals scored in the Primera División.
Six appeal
The weekend honours, though, went to German-born striker Rainer Rauffmann, who hit six for Omonia FC in Cyprus. The naturalised Cypriot helped his table-topping team achieve a club record 11-1 victory against Alki Larnaca FC. Rauffmann rose from 52nd to 13th in the standings as a result.

Only the leading five countries (Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England) on the UEFA Ranking have 2 as their multiplier. This is to emphasise the difference in (international) performance level between the clubs from those countries and those from the other countries.
A player cannot first play in a summer league (e.g. Norway) and then in a winter league (e.g. Spain) and combine the points total for each season.
