The resumption of the 1. Liga saw Ferencvárosi TC and MTK Hungária FC remain level on points at the top of the table as both recorded single-goal victories.

Last-gasp winner
Ferencváros, who stayed top by virtue of goal difference, defeated Újpesti TE 1-0 at home. It seemed as if the third-placed side would take a point from the game having frustrated their opponents, only for Ferencváros striker Attila Tököli to score the winning goal two minutes from time.

Late drama
It was a similar story for MTK, were being held to a goalless draw at Siófoki BSE until midfield player Daniel Rednic sealed all three points for the second-placed side with two minutes to go.

Success for ZTE
Champions Zalaegerszegi TE also enjoyed a narrow win, defeating fourth-placed Debreceni VSC 2-1 at home. First-half goals from striker Béla Koplárovics and midfield player Lajos Nagy put the home side in control and, although Debrecen pulled a goal back 20 minutes into the second half through Marius Sumudica’s eleventh goal of the season, ZTE held on for an important win.

Away win
Elsewhere, Videoton FC Fehérvár won convincingly at Györi ETO FC, with two goals from Ferenc Róth and one each from Balázs Tóth and György Korsos sealing a 4-0 win.

Five-star Sopron
MFC Sopron enjoyed an even better away victory, winning 5-0 at Békéscsabai EFC, who slipped to bottom place in the standings following the result. First-half goals from Bojan Lazic, Ivan Balasko and Gábor Bagoly put Sopron in command, before the home side lost midfield player Dusko Grujic to a 65th-minute red card. Late strikes from Ilja Javrujan and József Somogyi completed the win.

Important win
In Friday’s game, Kispest Honvéd FC moved off the bottom of the table and above their opponents with a 1-0 home win against Dunaferr SE. Striker Marius Sasu scored the only goal of the game on the hour.
