Comfortable win
League leaders Ferencvárosi TC warmed up for the spring season, which starts this weekend, with a 2-0 home win against Zalaegerszegi TE. Two second-half goals sealed their progress, although it took until the 77th minute for Ferencváros to break the deadlock with Hungarian international Attila Tököli registering twice.
Exciting game
Second-placed MTK Hungária FC also prevailed, enjoying a 3-2 home success against Dunaferr SE. Brazilian debutant Welton da Silva struck first, only for Balázs Nikolov to equalise for Dunaferr. Ferenc Lengyel then gave the visitors a surprise lead, but a penalty from István Ferenczi brought MTK level before captain Béla Illés scored the deciding goal.
Well-timed goals
Elsewhere, Debreceni VSC defeated MFC Sopron 2-0 at home, with goals in each half from Péter Andorka and Zoltán Kiss. Meanwhile, second-division BKV Elore made up the semi-final lineup. They beat Siófoki BSE 4-2 on penalties after Norbert Mészáros's 50th-minute goal had earned the underdogs a 1-1 draw.
