Barry bring in Nigerian Baruwa

Barry Town FC have boosted their Premiership title by signing Nigerian international goalkeeper Abiodun Baruwa.

World class
Baruwa represents a major coup for the Seasiders, whose manager Kenny Brown said: "To sign a player with Baruwa's pedigree is a massive lift to us. He sees this as a great opportunity and wants to do well for Barry Town." As well as playing in Switzerland and Austria - with FC Sion and SK Sturm Graz - the 28-year-old also won a gold medal with Nigeria at the 1996 Olympics and appeared for his country in the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Jeanne believer
Baruwa, a compatriot of new Barry chairman John Fashanu, joins on a free transfer and has agreed a short-term deal. Jeanne, meanwhile, arrives at Jenner Park on a non-contract basis following spells at Queen's Park Rangers FC, Cardiff City AFC and Port Talbot Town FC.

Afan additions
Elsewhere, Afan Lido FC were busy in the transfer market too, with goalkeeper Mark Elliott and striker Richard Ready heading to the Sports Centre from Garw Athletic FC and Bettws FC respectively.

Transfer flurry
Caernarfon Town FC snapped up defender Luke Campbell after he was released by Wrexham FC, goalkeeper Paul Smith switched from Colwyn Bay FC to Rhyl FC, and Oswestry Town FC brought in midfield player Andy Fitzgibbon from Christleton FC. Meanwhile, youngsters Haydn Ralph and Craig Sanders have signed professional terms with Haverfordwest County AFC and Welshpool Town AFC.
