Article body
With nine games to play in Serie A and a 20-point lead over second-placed AS Roma, the race for the Scudetto is nearly over leaving FC Internazionale Milano with a new target for the remainder of the season: the Nerazzurri want to become only the third team to finish the season undefeated and the first ever to reach the 100-point mark.
Century aim
Motivated
"I think 100 points is a lot, but we have the motivation to do it," said Inter coach Mancini. Standing in their way are visits to AC Siena, FC Messina Peloro and Atalanta BC and home fixtures against US Città di Palermo, AS Roma, Empoli FC, S.S. Lazio and Torino FC.
'Fantastic season'
Fabio Capello's AC Milan in 1991/92 and surprise package AC Perugia during the 1978/79 season are the only two sides to have completed a Serie A campaign without defeat in the past. Milan, however, ended that season with 12 draws to win the title, while Ilario Castagner's Perugia had eleven victories and 19 draws in a 16-team Serie A to finish second. "It would be great to finish with no defeats," said striker Hernán Crespo. "We are having a fantastic season, we are almost overachieving."
