Lazio take up Rozehnal option

S.S. Lazio have made permanent Czech Republic centre-back David Rozehnal's loan-move from Newcastle United FC.

Rozehnal, 27, joined the Serie A club on a temporary basis during the January transfer window just seven months after the north-east club had signed him from Paris Saint-Germain FC for €3.9m. The Biancocelesti have paid Newcastle a similar amount for Rozehnal, who made ten appearances in the second half of the season for Delio Rossi's side. Rozehnal is with the Czech squad in Switzerland preparing for their second match of UEFA EURO 2008™ against Portugal on Wednesday. He put in a commanding performance in his side's 1-0 win against Switzerland in the tournament opener.
