UC Sampdoria have signed Lithuanian international full-back Marius Stankevicius from Serie B side Brescia Calcio for an undisclosed fee.
Top-flight experience
No further details have been released for the transfer of the 26-year-old, who has been capped 38 times by his country. Stankevicius joined Brescia from FK Ekranas in 2001 playing 56 top-flight games and, following the club's relegation, another 101 in the second division. Sampdoria, who will enter the 2008/09 UEFA Cup first round, have been searching for a right-back since off-loading Christian Maggio to SSC Napoli and Cristian Zenoni to Bologna FC earlier this summer.
