UEFA backing
UEFA gave its backing to the one-day event at Liverpool's Arena and Convention Centre which focused on corporate and social responsibility, community relations and facilities management, from the point of view of club representatives, stadium stakeholders and sports governing bodies.
Promoting public health
The Healthy Stadia Programme aims to promote public health, community-outreach activities and environmental initiatives while also consolidating the corporate objectives of clubs. The conference, which was followed by a gala dinner at Liverpool FC's Anfield Stadium, was an opportunity to share learning, resources and best practice, as part of the launch of a European Healthy Stadia Network.
Supporting initiatives
UEFA's involvement with this EU-funded project continues the efforts of the European football governing body in supporting public health initiatives such as the Eat for Goals children's cookbook. (Click here for more information on Eat for Goals.)
