Scottish champions Rangers FC swept the boards at last night's Professional Footballers' Association Scotland player of the year awards.

Midfielder Steven Davis was named the Scottish Premier League's leading player while Walter Smith scooped the manager's accolade, with 18-year-old defender Danny Wilson winning the young player award.

"I have found a decent level of consistency this season and I've managed to affect games which has been a big plus for me," said 25-year-old Northern Ireland international Davis, whose side will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

"I feel I have progressed every season I've been here, but there are lots of areas where I can improve," he added. "Hopefully, I can put it all together next season and put everything into practice. One of the things that attracted me to Rangers was European football and it's great to be back in the Champions League."
