Miroslav Pelta has been re-elected as president of the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR) for a second term. The election took place at the association's assembly in Prague.

"I would like to thank you for your support, it is a great responsibility and obligation for me," the 48-year-old Pelta, who first took the helm in November 2011, said after his re-election for a four-year term. "There are a lot of challenges in front of us.

"We will be organising the UEFA Super Cup match in the summer, and the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2015. The preparations for both events have been ongoing, and I believe they will be great festivals of football," the FAČR president added.

The Stadium Eden in Prague hosts the UEFA Super Cup match between UEFA Champions League winners FC Bayern München and UEFA Europa League title holders Chelsea FC in August.

During the assembly, Pelta was presented by UEFA Executive Committee member Mircea Sandu with the inaugural UEFA HatTrick Award for the Best Special Project, relating to FAČR membership.

The scheme, which is continuing after approval by the Czech association assembly, includes the realisation of a unique IT system for player registration, a membership database and the creation of a unique system of membership cards.

The UEFA HatTrick Awards, which are given for the best investment, social, grassroots and women's football development projects, have two objectives – to recognise efforts made by member associations, and to lend them greater exposure within and outside the football family.
