Coach clash
Busquets has decided to end his career after leaving third division club UE Lleida by mutual consent. The veteran, who was in his fourth season at Lleida, had clashed with coach Paco Martínez Bonachera at the team hotel last weekend.
Out of favour
"He said some things to me and I said things to him. I then apologised for my behaviour but he wouldn't accept it," said Busquets, who spent eight seasons in the Barcelona first-team squad between 1990 and 1998. He had been out of the Lleida side despite having signed a one-year contract last summer.
Finest hour
Busquets's finest hour at Camp Nou was the 1991 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final against Manchester United FC, when he deputised for the suspended Andoni Zubizarreta. Barcelona lost the game 2-1.
