Shakhtar star suspended for ref attack

FC Shakhtar Donetsk defender Predrag Pazhin has been banned for five games after he assaulted a referee.

Hooligan behaviour
The Football Federation of Ukraine's disciplinary committee took the decision after describing the Bulgarian international's actions as "incorrect behaviour". "It was the act of a hooligan," committee chief Stefan Reshko said. "Pazhin pushed the referee out of the penalty area before kicking him and stamping on his leg."

Table toppers
Shakhtar lost the match 2-0 at Chornomorets on 23 March but still have a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. Pazhin, 29, joined Shakhtar on a three-year contract last December.
