Nudging ahead
Sunday's stalemate allowed Haka to move a point clear of Tampere United and HJK Helsinki, with two games in hand on Tampere and one on HJK. Haka's cause was further aided on Saturday when HJK's winless run extended to three games as they were held 1-1 at home by TPS Turku.
Virtanen happy
Elsewhere, FC Inter Turku recorded their fourth straight win as they beat Myllykosken Pallo-47 1-0 at home. Samuli Lindelöf's first-half goal left his side eighth in the table, with MyPa remaining in fifth place. "We have come a long way from the opening rounds, when nothing seemed to go our way," said Inter coach Kari Virtanen.
KooTeePee win
FC KooTeePee also climbed the table after a 2-0 victory against FF Jaro. Zoran Bogesic scored in the first half and Gabor Szilagyi sealed the points for the home side in the second half.
Jazz delight
Meanwhile, FC Jazz, who had lost their first six away games of the season, had a happy trip to FC Hämeenlinna. Matti Santahuhta gave the visitors a 52nd-minute lead before a frenzied last few minutes saw Toni Junnila score twice more for Jazz before Hans Wikberg pulled one back.
