Sándor Berzi has had a long and distinguished career in sports law and administration, serving as general secretary of the Hungarian Football Federation between 1990 and 2006 and as vice-president since 2010. He was also vice-president of MTK between 1979 and 1989, and General Director of Videoton (Fehérvár FC) from 2008 to 2009.

He joined the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body in 1992 and has been one of its vice-chairmen since 2006. He has also been a UEFA match delegate since 1994 and served as a member of the UEFA Administrative Expert Panel between 2001 and 2006.

Sándor Berzi has also played an active role in the education of referees, coaches and football managers throughout Hungary and across Europe.
