AS Monaco FC lie ten points shy of Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain after being held to a 1-1 draw at home against LOSC Lille.
Paris dispatched FC Lorient on Friday, but Monaco were unable to respond in kind, despite taking the lead on four minutes as Mounir Obbadi turned in from Valère Germain's cutback. Third-placed LOSC levelled seven minutes before the break as Divock Origi finished at the far post after being set up by Ryan Mendes.
The result left the visitors three points clear of fourth-placed AS Saint-Étienne, who returned to winning ways by downing FC Sochaux-Montbéliard 3-1, substitute Mevlüt Erdinç heading in the opener just after the break. The Turkey forward also rounded off the scoring a minute from time, after Franck Tabanou made it 2-0 and Edouard Butin reduced the deficit for Sochaux, who had Cédric Bakambu sent off late on.
As for fifth-placed Olympique Lyonnais, who host Les Verts in next Sunday's Rhone derby, they prevailed 1-0 at EA Guingamp. Bafétimbi Gomis plundered the only goal of the game after being fed by Alexandre Lacazette moments after the restart.
