FC Utrecht leapfrogged SBV Vitesse in the Eredivisie table as two goals from Igor Gluscevic inspired them to a comfortable 3-1 win on Sunday.
Biggest defeat
Vitesse, who had conceded just seven league goals before kick off at the Nieuw Galgenwaard stadium, fell to their biggest defeat of the season. The win saw Utrecht move above their visitors and into fifth place in the table.
Diarra dismissed
Gluscevic's goals sandwiched Belgian Stefan Tanghe's crisp 25-metre free-kick and Vitesse had goalscorer Mahamadou Diarra dismissed late in the game.
NAC held by Willem
NAC Breda moved into fourth place with a point from a 2-2 draw against Willem II. Willem midfield player Christian Janssens opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a superb free-kick and Mariano Bombarda fired home 17 minutes into the second half to put the Tilburg outfit 2-0 up.
Cristiano on target
But the celebrations were cut short two minutes later when NAC's Brazilian Cristiano dos Santos Rodrigues halved the deficit. Yugoslavian Nebosja Gudelj matched Janssens's dead-ball skills to smash home the equaliser after Sergio Pacheco had been fouled on the edge of the box by Raymond Victoria.
Sparta and NEC draw
In Sunday's other game, the battle between two former Dutch greats saw Frank Rijkaard's Sparta Rotterdam settle for a goalless draw with Johan Neeskens's NEC Nijmegen, despite having a one-man advantage for an hour. Visiting defender Peter Wisgerhof was sent off after only 30 minutes at the Eneco stadium.
