Hammarby IF FF won the Swedish first division title for the first time in their 104-year history with a 3-2 victory over Örgryte IS on Sunday.
Tense start
In front of a sell out Söderstadion stadium, however, it was Örgryte's Jeffrey Aubynn who scored the first goal, silencing the excited crowd after only eight minutes. Andreas Hermansson's deft lob after 31 minutes levelled the scores and took the striker's tally to 14 for the season.
Nervous finale
Five minutes after the break Hammarby went in front through a Johan Stark header and when Kennedy Bakircioglu made it 3-1 after 72 minutes the crowd sensed the title was heading their way. However, they had to endure a tense final 13 minutes after Christian Hemberg pulled one back for Orgryte.
Bergström hat-trick
At the other end of the table, IFK Norrköping did their chances of survival in the top-flight the world of good as they beat already-relegated Trelleborgs FF 5-0. Left-winger Kristian Bergström scored a second-half hat-trick after Joe Spiteri had sent the home side in with a one-goal advantage at the break. Second-half substitute Dawid Banaczek rounded off the scoring with a goal in injury time.
Still alive
A point now from their last game at IF Elfsborg will mean that Nörrkoping will avoid the relegation play-offs after second-from-bottom BK Häcken beat GIF Sundsvall 2-1. Sundsvall looked like they were heading in the right direction when they took a 32nd-minute lead through Fredrik Lundqvist. However, Häcken struck back with Peter Vougt and Tobias Hysén scoring a goal in each half to steal the points and re-ignite the home team's chances of survival in the division.
All to play for
Sundsvall now hold the relegation play-off place and face newly-crowned champions Hammarby in their final game. Häcken need a win at Halmstad to have any chance of avoiding the drop.
