FBK Kaunas, FK Zalgiris Vilnius and FK Atlantas all kept up a steady pace at the top of the A Lyga with victories tonight.
Tied at the top
All three clubs have 100 per cent records so far and are tied at the summit with 12 points each from four games. Kaunas were the big winners on the night, as they cruised past FK Gelezinis-Vilkas 3-0 courtesy of goals from Marius Bezykornovas, Andrius Velicka and Tadas Papeckys.
Hard-fought victory
Zalgiris gained a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FK Ekranas. In a game largely dominated by Ekranas, Zalgiris were given the edge with only two minutes to go when young striker Mindaugas Grigalevicius finished confidently.
Zuta opener
Atlantas also picked up three points after overcoming FK Inkaras 3-0. Audriu Zuta stroked Atlantas into the lead on 15 minutes, Arunas Suika doubled the advantage four minutes later and Vidas Dancenko capped a strong performance with ten minutes to go.
Minute's silence observed
Elsewhere, newcomers FK Suduva recorded their first top-flight victory by beating FK Nevézis 2-0, with goals from Tomas Radzinevicius and Dainius Suliauskas. A minute of silence was observed at every game on Thursday in honour of the late Robertas Mackevicius, a member of the Lithuanian Football Federation Executive Committee and also a part of the UEFA Futsal Committee.
