Trond Bjørnsen was the two-goal hero for Bryne FK to give them a commanding 3-0 lead on Wednesday in the first leg of a play-off for a place in the Norwegian Tippeligaen.

Upper hand
Bryne finished in 12th position at the end of the season which meant they had to win a two-legged tie against Hamarkameratene to preserve their Tippeligaen status. The victory gives Bryne the upper hand going into the second leg as the away side on Saturday.

Two goals
Swedish defender Marcus Andreasson opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark but both defences then stood firm for much of the game. It looked like Bryne would only take a slender lead into the second leg against Ham-Kam, who missed out on automatic promotion by just two points, until Bjørnsen took over to net twice in the final ten minutes.
