Able to compete
The Swedish Football Association (SvFF) has lowered restrictions on freedom of contract, which means Allsvenskan clubs can now compete on level terms with clubs across the continent.

Compensation paid
Although national team players such as Håkan Mild, now of English first division club Wimbledon FC, have been allowed to move abroad for nothing, Swedish sides must pay compensation for a player if his contract has expired.

'Can't stop the future'
"We can't stop the future and I think we must follow the Bosman rules between Swedish clubs as well," said Lars-Åke Lagrell, the SvFF chairman.
