In the poll of all 16 Vysshaya Liga coaches, Nigmatullin beat team-mate Marat Izmailov into second place. FC Spartak Moscow's Yegor Titov, last season's winner and another who featured in this season's UEFA Champions League, came third.

Izmailov was the Rookie of the Year, with FC Zenit St. Petersburg's Aleksandr Kerzhakov and Andrei Arshavin taking second and third places respectively.
