FC Tirol Innsbruck maintained their grip on the Austrian Bundesliga table with a 1-0 victory over SK Rapid Wien on Saturday. But they were made to work hard for their points and had to wait until the 84th minute for their chance to see off Rapid.

Big lead
Stefan Marasek's cross-shot somehow found its way through a group of players to sneak into the corner of the visitors' goal and seal the win. Tirol now hold a ten-point advantage at the top of the table.

Home win for Salzburg
A goal in each half gave SV Austria Salzburg a home win over VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. Robert Frustuk set the ball rolling after just five minutes, picking up on the rebound after Richard Kitzbichler's effort had come back off a post. With 12 minutes remaining, Kitzbichler's free-kick found Goran Tomic free in the Admira area and he had a simple task to slot the ball home from close range.

Rushfeldt contribution crucial
Two first-half goals from Sigurd Rushfeldt proved to be too much for FC Kärnten as FK Austria Wien secured a 2-1 victory. Rushfeldt nodded home the first after 33 minutes and was doubled the lead four minutes later with a brilliant solo run and finish. Kärnten, to their credit, continued to press but their only reward was Markus Oberleitner's strike four minutes into injury time at the end of the match.

Bregenz win
Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz and SV Ried shared four second-half goals with the hosts running out 3-1 winners. Axel Lawaree set Bregenz on their way in the 63rd minute, re-directing Jan-Ove Pedersen's shot into the back of the net. Ried grabbed the equaliser with eight minutes remaining when Wolfgang Stockinger forced the ball home after it had come back off the crossbar.

Strum goal
However Florian Sturm put Bregenz side back in front three minutes from time with a shot from the edge of the area and as Ried tried to force another equaliser, Lawaree went down the other end of the pitch to make the game safe.
