Runaway Austrian Bundesliga leaders FC Tirol Innsbruck took another step towards retaining their title on Wednesday night - without even playing.
Rivals held
Grazer AK and SK Sturm Graz, Tirol's two closest rivals, were both held to draws, leaving the Tivoli stadium side nine points clear at the summit with a game in hand on Sturm and two on Grazer.
Late lead
Third-placed Grazer, who beat Tirol in their last outing, looked to have closed the gap when they led 2-1 going into injury time in their match away to Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz. But striker Florian Sturm scored in the dying seconds to deny Grazer the three points.
No winning goal
Sturm, who are second, went behind in the 26th minute at home to VfB Admira Wacker Mödling when Kliton Bozgo scored but Gyorgy Korsós levelled the scores five minutes before the break. Despite their second-half pressure, Sturm were unable to force a winning goal.
Spoils shared
The other match played on Wednesday also failed to provide a winner as FC Kärnten and SV Austria Salzburg shared a 1-1 draw. Goran Tomic gave Salzburg the lead after 15 minutes but the hosts struck back 18 minutes later through Marijo Maric.
