Clear at the top
Even though the 16 remaining teams in the Yugoslav first division still have a game to play before the first half of the season draws to a close, Partizan are five-points clear of FK Crvena Zvezda, and second-placed Obilic, and thus cannot be overhauled.
Superb display
Obilic missed out on their own chance to top the division as Partizan produced a superb away performance, that included a double strike from Miladin Becanovic, to end their hopes.
Deflected shot
Becanovic's first came after 18 minutes when a Vladimir Ivic shot was deflected into his path and he made no mistake from close range. The capital club were 2-0 up four minutes after half-time when Obilic were caught on the counterattack by Becanovic, who finished well.
No way back
There was no way back for the home side when Sasa Ilic netted a third goal six minutes later. Obilic scored a consolation strike when Nenad Mladenovic, the league's top scorer, latched on to a searching cross to head home his 12th of the season in the dying seconds.
