Béla Illés made it 15 strikes in 20 games with two goals on Wednesday as MTK Hungária FC marched on at the top of the Hungarian first division.

Advantage preserved
MTK beat Ferencvárosi TC 3-1 to preserve their eleven-point advantage over second-placed Zalaegerszegi TE. Illes struck after 39 and 45 minutes to put the leaders two goals ahead at the break. István Ferenczi also scored in the 76th minute to render Péter Lipcsei’s 64th-minute penalty academic.

Kenesei winner
Zalaegerszeg remain second thanks to the 34th-minute Krisztián Kenesei goal which sunk Haladás VSE, who remain second-bottom. Dunaferr SE beat Kispest Honvéd FC 4-0, with Balázs Nikolov scoring in each half and Ferenc Lengyel and György Kiss also on the mark.

Last-gasp leveller
Debreceni VSC's Vladimir Nenadics snatched a last-gasp leveller as his side drew 2-2 at MFC Sopron. They had gone ahead after a minute through Krisztián Tiber, but goals from Róbert Horváth in the 19th minute and József Somogyi ten minutes from time looked to have clinched three points for Sopron.
