AC Chievo Verona returned to the top of Serie A after a shock 2-1 victory over Internazionale FC at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium on Saturday.

Pulsating game
Chievo now lead Inter by a point after a pulsating game in which the Verona side, in their first season in the Italian top flight, thoroughly deserved victory.

Fortunate goal
A Bernardo Corradi header put Chievo ahead in the 20th minute but Inter were level within five minutes when Ronaldo headed a cross down into Christian Vieri's path and the ball went in off the legs of the Italian international striker.

Classic Chievo strike
But it was a classic Chievo goal which gave Luigi del Neri's side their first win in Milan when Simone Perrotta split the Inter defence with a superb pass and Massimo Marazzina fired past Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo.

Full reward
Both sides had plenty of chances in an open game but it was Chievo who gained full reward for their attacking approach. The chant of "It is possible" from their supporters at the end of the game may not be purely wishful thanking after Chievo dealt Inter only their second defeat of the season.
