Turkey round-up: Istanbulspor held

Istanbulspor AS missed the chance to move up to fourth in the Turkish 1. Lig after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Rizespor on Sunday.

Rizespor took the lead in the 56th minute when Okan Öztürk volleyed home Serkan Özdemir’s cross, but they only held on to the lead for 11 minutes before Istanbulspor equalized through Mehmet Yozgatli’s 10-metre drive.

Meanwhile, Gençlerbirligi SK moved off the foot of the table after salvaging a point with a late goal against Trabzonspor. Erman Özgür gave Trabzonspor the lead three minutes after the interval, but Ismail Güldüren held his nerve to dispatch a 90th-minute penalty for a share of the spoils.
