Marian Albu has been unanimously elected president of FC Rapid Bucuresti on a four-year term.
No surprise
The 51-year-old Albu had been finance chief of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) for the last eleven years, a job which made him a huge influence on Romanian football. He will take control of all the financial and organisational matters of the club.
Financial losses
George Copos, Rapid's chief investor, turned to Albu as the club have suffered financial losses despite selling Tiberiu Ghioane to FC Dynamo Kyiv and Sergiu Radu to Divizia A rivals FC National Bucuresti.
