Car crash kills Steaua youngster

Talented FC Steaua Bucuresti youngster Ovidiu Iacov has been killed in a car accident

Tragic death
The 20-year-old midfielder, who made his debut for the club in June 2001, was killed along with his girlfriend when his car went out of control near the town of Targoviste and crashed into a fence. Three other passengers were in the back seat of the car when it crashed. Two sustained serious injuries while the third escaped relatively unscathed.

Promising career
Iacov scored one goal and set up another in his first appearance for Steaua - a 3-1 win against AS Gaz Metan Medias and played a further four games in Divizia A for the club.
