Former Sweden coach Georg "Åby" Eriksson, who led the national team during most of the 1970s, died on Saturday aged 82.
'One of the greatest'
"Åby was one of our biggest leaders ever," Swedish Football Association (SvFF) chairman Lars-Åke Lagrell was quoted as saying. "If you were to summarise Swedish soccer history he would undoubtedly be one of the ten greatest."
World Cup run
Eriksson coached Sweden from 1971 to 1979 and led the team to the second stage of the 1974 FIFA World Cup in West Germany.
